So, Fedex sent back my package after they failed to deliver it. After confirming my address (stressing the comma in "#13, 2", lest fedex believe i live in #132), resending my phone number (never mind it was quoted in my last email) along with my neighbour's (with whom i have never spoken, but them having a landline apparently matters), and being sickeningly polite (not quite their fault, after all), my long-suffering auction item (sixth season highlander) was sent off for its third trip across the Atlantic.
And this time, I have the tracking number.
Yesterday morning, then, the package was put on the delivery truck, headed my way. Which would be fine, marvelous even, if I weren't working the late shift at the moment. I called Fedex shortly before leaving for work, and gave the nice lady the tracking number:
Nice lady: Right, Main Street 132--
moi: No no no, 13, second floor!
NL: Oh, yes, there's a space there.
moi: Well, could you put in a comma? Just to make sure.
NL: Of course.
moi: Thanks. Now, I won't be home today or the next couple of days either. Could you postpone the second delivery? To, say, Tuesday?
NL: That should be possible. Could I have your phone number?
moi: But don't you already...? Eh, *rattles off phone number* But it's a cell, I'm not in the directory--
NL: Oh, we don't use them to check anything.
moi: Uhm ... okay. Did you put in the comma?
NL: Oops, sorry, got it. But really, the driver would figure it out.
Except I haven't had notice of an attempted delivery this time either, so obviously he didn't figure it out. On top of that, I checked this morning (i'm so distrustful) and it's been sent off again. I'll put a note up to either put it in the mailbox or deliver it at work. The people at the front desk have more important things to do than dealing with my mail, but there's not much else I can do. Frankly, I am so incredibly unimpressed with Fedex that I don't even know where to start, and I don't have anyone to yell at.
Humph.
